Factinsect is a software based on artificial intelligence for automated fact-checking that helps to assess the credibility of information from the Internet. Factinsect supports readers with a simple traffic light system to better evaluate the overwhelming flood of information on the Internet. Green stands for: confirmed information or established knowledge. Orange means: The information cannot be confirmed yet. The reason for this can be that the information is new, that there are contradicting assessments concerning its credibility, that it is a mistake or satire.
In this case it is up to the reader to delve deeper into the topic. The software is available as a test version as a plug-in for Chrome browser. Further functions, supported browsers, mobile applications and video check are in development.
