As we continue to grow our company and push our innovations to the market, we are seeking a talented and experienced EMBEDDED SYSTEMS ENGINEER FOR UA SYSTEMS (ALL GENDERS)
As an Embedded Systems Engineer for Apeleon's long-range multi-radio system, you will play a critical role in the architecture, development and implementation of systems that enable communication between our UA and ground control stations. You will play a key role in a small, fast-moving team of engineers to ensure the seamless integration of radio systems into our UA platforms
Your tasks
- Designing, developing and integrating inhouse-solutions or/and selecting, modifying, and integrating COTS solutions for integrating various sensors and sub-systems to monitor/control several aircraft functions.
- Define requirements and specifications, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
- Implementing communication protocols between different subsystems.
- Conducting testing and debugging of components to ensure functionality and performance.
- Support flight test crew.
- Documenting work, specifications, and test procedures.
- Task planning and coordination with other departments e.g., mechanical design.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field
- Proven experience (>2 years) in the related field, preferably in the aerospace or UAS industry
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and familiarity with embedded software development tools
- Experience with PCB design
- Experience with EDA programs (preferably KICAD)
- Experience with communication interfaces including I2C, CAN, SPI, UART, etc.
- Knowledge of micro-controller and microprocessor-based systems (e.g., STM32)
- Familiarity with Single Board computers and Linux based operating systems (e.g., Raspberry Pi)
- From time to time available to work extended hours and/or weekends if needed
- Proficient in English
Desired – if we are allowed to make a wish!
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field
- Proven experience (>5 years) in the related field, preferably in the aerospace or UAS industry
- Experience with DO 178 and DO 256
- Experience with hardware and software design for mission critical systems.
- Knowledge with different hardware and software tests and methods for embedded systems.
- Fluent in German

The collectively agreed minimum salary is EUR 40,414/year (full-time). The actual package will be determined by job related knowledge and experience.
