RePyro is developing a decentralized recycling concept for lithium-ion batteries that enables efficient and climate-neutral recovery of valuable raw materials. Based on a technologically and systematically engineered approach, it creates a modular network of micro pyro hubs operated where batteries arise. The system runs on 100 percent renewable energy and enables recycling rates above 95 percent at reduced costs.
At the core of the technology is an innovative, patent-protected reduction reactor with the unique capability to process highly heterogeneous residual streams. Volatile elements such as lithium and phosphorus can be recovered directly via the gas phase at high purity.
The vision is a scalable platform that enables municipalities, recycling operators, and industrial partners to build regional value creation, reduce CO2 emissions, and make Europe more independent from raw material imports.
